Malgund is a just a kilometer away from Ganapatipule,the birthplace of the famous Marathi Poet Keshavsoot.
This small, yet beautiful village is frequented by visitors who come to take a look at the renovated and converted house of the
poet,now a student's hostel.
Ganpatipule is a quaint little town along the Konkan Coast of Maharashtra, a popular beach haven.
Legend has it, that Lord Ganapati, on being offended
by a native lady, changed his dwelling from Gule to
Pule, and thus the town was named Ganapatipule. It
houses the famous Swayambhu Ganapati temple.
Pawas is naturally beautiful and serene. The place is also prominent for
the ashram of Swami Swaroopanand (a spiritual leader who influenced an entire
generation of Maharashtrians).A visit to the place is a journey through time.
Ratnagiri is the districts of vast, beautiful western coast Kokan.
It is here that the great freedom fighter Bal Gangadhar Tilak was born. His house - Tilak Smarak - is a landmark now
and is open to visitors. Also the "Patit Pawan Mandir" is of importance here.
Velneshwar is about 170 km from Ratnagiri, in Maharashtra. It's a sleepy, quiet village with a nice,
clean and beautiful beach lined with coconut trees.It is possible to swim there as the beach is free from rocks.
There is an old Shiva temple near Velneshwar which is frequently visited by pilgrims.
